Jio also limits 5G unlimited data to more expensive plans, introduces new services

Jio has confirmed that its 5G unlimited data facility will now be accessible only to customers with plans with 2GB of data per day or more. The company reiterated its fastest 5G rollout in India. Jio is also the only operator that uses Standalone 5G technology in the country. Further, the carrier will not increase tariffs for JioPhone and JioBharat users.

Jio also launched two new applications today: JioSafe and JioTranslate. JioSafe is a communication app with a calling facility, messaging, file sharing and more. The standout function will be its “quantum security.” The company has not elaborated but confirmed that the monthly subscription cost will be Rs. 199.

The second application, JioTranslate, is an “AI-powered” communication app that can translate voice calls, voice messages, texts, and images. The service has been priced at Rs. 99 per month. Luckily, Jio users can avail of both these services free of cost for a year
