A report from BGR details how users on Apple's community forum are facing issues after a recent iOS 17.2.1 update. Apple released iOS 17.2.1 as a stable update to iPhones to fix battery drain issues. This update has reportedly introduced cellular connectivity problems in various units, with users not being able to connect to cellular data or make calls.
The exact cause other than the update is unclear; neither network providers nor Apple have yet provided any statements regarding the same. However, some users did report spotting expired VPN and management profiles that can usually be found on workplace-issued devices, which could have led to problems.
While the forum post has around a dozen people claiming this issue exists on their devices, it is still not as widespread. The lack of posts on X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit regarding this issue tells us that it could also be limited to specific carriers and regions.
