Highlights
  • The Google AI will consist of several new and existing ML-based features.
  • It will also include Microsoft’s Recall-like Pixel Screenshots feature.
  • The upcoming Studio feature will likely be similar to the Creative Assistant app.

The Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro include a number of AI features for erasing unwanted objects, Magic Audio Eraser to cancel out unwanted background noise, AI wallpapers, and much more. However, a new report suggests the upcoming Pixel 9 will likely come with Google AI, consisting of several new and existing ML-based features like Add Me, Studio, and Microsoft’s Recall-like Pixel Screenshots for enhanced AI capabilities. Here are the details about these Google AI features.

Google AI features on Pixel 9

Add Me

  • According to a report by Android Authority, Google AI’s anticipated “Add Me” feature will likely be an enhanced version of “Best Take”.
  • The Best Take feature was announced with the Google Pixel 8 series and lets users combine several pictures into one image.
  • Users can select their favourite expressions for everyone and create their own Best Take to make the group photo look perfect.
  • Meanwhile, the “Add Me” feature suggests the tech giant is aiming to improve what users photograph rather than focusing on the original image.
Studio

  • As per the report, the Studio feature will likely be similar to the Creative Assistant app, which is yet to be revealed, and its details surfaced online a while back.
  • It is speculated that the Creative Assistant app will let users create stickers with the help of generative AI and add them to screenshots or other images.
  • However, the report also mentions that the Studio app might do a lot more than just simply creating AI stickers.
  • The feature might serve as an all-in-one generative AI image generator, likely similar to Apple’s Image Playground, that allows users to create images via text prompts.

Pixel Screenshots

  • The report notes that the Pixel Screenshots feature is said to be similar to the tech giant Microsoft’s Recall feature, available for Windows on Copilot Plus PC.
  • Notably, the Recall feature takes snapshots of everything users do and employs on-device AI to help quickly find information from whatever they are searching for.

Simultaneously, Google AI is anticipated to include existing features as well like Circle to Search and Gemini. The Circle to Search feature allows users to search for information on the internet by simply circling, highlighting, or tapping on the screen to select the text, image, or video they want to search. Meanwhile, the Gemini AI assistant lets users ask questions or make requests, such as writing an essay or making a presentation, and in return, it responds with related text or images.
