The current generation Sony WH-XB910N extra bass wireless headphones were launched in India last year and are offered in Black and Blue colours.

Sony WH-XB910N successor revealed ahead of official launch

The renders, which come courtesy of seasoned leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, show that the successors to the Sony WH-XB910N extra bass wireless headphones will come in three colour options. While the Black and Blue colours continue from the predecessor, there’s a new White colour as well.

There are some design changes to the upcoming headphones. For one, Sony seems to be replacing touch controls with traditional buttons for music playback. We also see a grille on the surface to enable Active Noise Cancellation. To recall, the WH-XB910N offer digital noise cancellation. Hence, you can expect better noise cancellation with the upcoming headphones.

In addition to ANC, the successors to the Sony WH-XB910N are also tipped to get DSEE (upscaling music files), and Bass Boost via a companion app to enhance the audio experience. OnLeaks revealed to us that the upcoming iteration of the Sony WH-XB910N will use the V1 Chip as found on the WH-1000X series for sound processing. While not much is known about the battery capacity, his information suggests a playback time of 35 hours with ANC enabled. The device will also support a quick charge system that will provide juice for 1 hour’s worth of music playback in just 3 minutes. The next-gen Sony WH-XB910N headphones could also support a multi-point connection.

Additionally, Steve also provided renders of the upcoming Sony WH-CH520 headphones in a new Beige colour option. These headphones will succeed the WH-CH510 and our renders show a circular ear cup and generous padding over the headband. The WH-CH520 headphones also get their share of volume rocker switches, power on-off buttons, and a charging port.

The pricing and launch timeline for the upcoming Sony devices are still unknown.
