Nothing’s new CMF Phone 1 (review) is now official in India, and the smartphone boasts MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 7300 SoC. For a starting price of Rs 15,999, users can also get 128GB of onboard storage and have the option to expand the memory via a microSD card. The top variant at Rs 17,999 offers the same storage but with an increased RAM capacity of 8GB.
While the aggressive pricing may attract some customers, many might still prefer the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite (review) due to the brand’s strong online presence in the country. The smartphone offers several noteworthy upgrades, but it uses the same chipset as the last two models. In that case, is it worth considering Nord CE4 Lite over the CMF Phone 1? Here’s a detailed comparison.

Geekbench
Geekbench’s single and multi-core scores offer a decent insight into the CPU’s capabilities to handle simple and complex tasks under heavy load. Its basic rule – the higher the score, the better.
In our Geekbench test, the Dimensity 7300-SoC-powered CMF Phone 1 achieved higher single and multi-core scores against the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite (image below). For reader’s clarity, both smartphones have 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The scores suggest that Nothing’s new smartphone may handle basic (clicking photos, sending emails, and browsing) as well as demanding (editing and games) tasks slightly more efficiently.

AnTuTu
Unlike Geekbench, the AnTuTu test considers broad parameters, including CPU performance, memory, UI and UX. It also evaluates the CPU performance.
The CMF Phone 1 again emerged as the winner in our AnTuTu test against the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite. You will notice a wide gap between the scores achieved by the two smartphones.

CPU Throttle
For our next test, we used the Burnout app to test the chipset’s capabilities under a severe workload. Notably, both smartphones showed similar stability under throttle.
The CMF Phone 1 exhibited relatively better performance under heavy load than the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite. So far, Nothing’s new smartphone is ahead in all the synthetic benchmarks.

Gaming
For the gaming round, we played Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and Call of Duty (COD) on both smartphones for 30 minutes each. We are considering the change in the internal temperature to evaluate the performance.
After 30 minutes of BGMI playtime, the internal temperature of the CMF Phone 1 and the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite increased by 3.5 degrees Celsius and 6.4 degrees Celsius, respectively. At the end of the COD gaming round, the internal temperature of both smartphones increased by 5.8 degrees Celsius and 7.8 degrees Celsius, respectively. The CMF Phone 1 shows a significantly lower average temperature increase after gaming sessions, indicating better thermal management.

Verdict
In our performance tests, the CMF Phone 1 stood tall over the relatively more expensive OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite. While both smartphones offer Android 14 out-of-the-box, Nothing’s new offering could be an ideal companion for daily work and mild gaming.
