ASUS has introduced a new 2024 model of its ROG Zephyrus G16 gaming laptop and a new version of the ROG Ally handheld gaming device. The former features AMD’s latest mobile processor with a dedicated NPU chipset for efficient AI processing, while the latter comes with upgraded memory, storage and battery life. Here’s a closer look at both of these devices:
ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 2024: specifications, features
- Display: The ROG Zephyrus G16 2024 features a 16-inch ROG Nebula OLED display panel with 2.5K (2560 × 1600) resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, and a 0.2 ms response time.
- The panel comes with 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, Delta E < 1 colour accuracy, and is Pantone validated for colour calibration, along with NVIDIA G-Sync, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500, and Dolby Vision support.
- Processor, graphics: It features an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 mobile GPU, with a max TGP of 105W.
- RAM & storage: The laptop comes with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X 7500 MHz onboard memory, along with support for up to 4TB of PCIe M.2 2280 Gen 4 SSD for storage.
- OS: The device comes with Windows 11 Pro pre-loaded.
- Audio: The laptop features a stereo speaker setup with Hi-Res audio output, Dolby Atmos support and a smart amplifier.
- Battery: A 90Wh battery powers the ROG Zephyrus G16 2024.

ASUS ROG Ally X: specifications, features
The ROG Ally X features a redesigned chassis in a brand-new black colour, improved joysticks, and thinner fans that claim to push up to 24 percent more air volume and can bring temperatures down by about 6 degrees Celsius while gaming. Here are the specifications:
- Display: ASUS ROG Ally X equips a 7-inch FHD IPS screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 100 percent sRGB colour gamut, a peak brightness of 500nits, 7ms response time, and AMD FreeSync Premium support.
- Processor: The device features an AMD Z1 extreme octa-core processor with a peak clock speed of 5.1GHz.
- Storage: Up to 24 GB of LPDDR5X 7500 RAM and 1TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 2280 SSD storage.
- OS: The device operates on Windows 11 right out of the box.
- Battery: An upgraded 80WHr battery powers the ASUS ROG Ally paired with a 65W charging unit.
