ASUS is gearing up to introduce the ROG Phone 8 series in China on January 16th, which will comprise the ROG Phone 8, ROG Phone 8 Pro, and likely an Ultimate variant. Several details about the Pro variant have recently emerged online, and the company has now officially disclosed the Geekbench and AnTuTu scores for the ROG Phone 8 Pro. Notably, these results showcase faster performance compared to what Apple’s A17 Pro can achieve.
ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro Geekbench, AnTuTu scores
- ASUS has disclosed that the ROG Phone 8 Pro has outperformed the A17 Pro in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max in the multi-core test, achieving a score of 7,422. However, the smartphone brand chose not to disclose the single-core score of the upcoming flagship smartphone.
- As per reports (via), this performance comparison is unsurprising, considering the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has fallen short of the A17 Pro in the single-core category, irrespective of its well-managed temperatures.
- Meanwhile, on AnTuTu, the ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro has demonstrated its capability by achieving a score of 2,359,969, indicating its proficiency in managing a variety of tasks and applications.

ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro design
The recent renders hint that the ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro has a centrally positioned punch-hole cutout, alongside narrow bezels surrounding the display and flat edges. The handset’s boxy chassis, a common feature in current flagship devices, incorporates the volume rocker and power button on the right edge.
At the bottom, there’s a 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port, SIM tray section, and a microphone. At the rear, a square-ish module houses the triple camera sensors and an LED flash, with the ‘ROG’ text positioned at the bottom of the module. The phone also showcases distinctive LED dots on the back panel, potentially customisable to display specific logos.
