Airtel has launched a new Rs 9 prepaid plan in the country. This is a speciality pack that only offers unlimited internet connectivity for customers but there are no voice benefits with this. The recharge pack is readily available for customers via the Airtel website. Now, before you get all excited about unlimited data at just Rs 9, there’s a catch.

Airtel launched an unlimited data pack

  • The Rs 9 Airtel prepaid pack offers unlimited data.
  • However, the catch here is that the validity of the pack is just 1 hour. This means you can use unlimited internet for 60 minutes without any interruptions.
  • Do note that there is an FUP (fair usage policy) limit of 10GB after which, the speed will be reduced to 64kbps.

  • The plan comes in handy especially when you need to download something important and you’ve already exhausted the daily data quota. 

At the moment, customers need to recharge with Rs 129 plan to get over 10GB of data but this plan has the same validity as the existing pack, unlike the Rs 9 plan which is only valid for 1 hour. 

Separately, Airtel recently increased the validity of its Rs 395 prepaid recharge plan in India. The pack earlier offered just 56 days of validity but has now increased to 70 days. However, other benefits of the pack remain unchanged. We get 6GB of data, 600 SMS, and unlimited voice calls to any network. In comparison, Jio also offers a similar plan and this has a validity of 84 days. This is two weeks more validity than Airtel’s pack.
