TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

During the "Candy Man" number, a moment is included where candy store owner Bill flips open a pass-through on the counter hitting a young girl in the chin with sound effects included. This is a direct reference to a now famous mistake during the original Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) where the same incident takes place in which one of the child actors is mistakenly hit under the chin in the same manner.

This movie is dedicated to Gene Wilder who played Willy Wonka in the original Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971). He died a year before this video was released.

The voice cast performs the roles of the characters in accents faithful to the nationality of their live action counterparts from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971).

Jeff Bergman replaces the late Joe Alaskey to become the current voice for Droopy Dog.

In this version of the classic, Slugworth sings his own version of "I want it now" before Veruca Salt sings it.

Popular Dialogues

"Grandpa Joe: Excuse me, Mr. Wonka? Willy Wonka: I'm incredibly busy, sir. Grandpa Joe: But, what about Charlie's lifetime supply of chocolate? When does he get it? Willy Wonka: He doesn't. Grandpa Joe: What? Why not? Willy Wonka: Because, he broke the factory rules. Grandpa Joe: What factory rules? [to Charlie] Grandpa Joe: We didn't see any rules. [He stands up to Joe, angrily] Willy Wonka: Wrong, sir! Wrong! Under section 37 of the contract signed by him, all offers shall become null and void, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera... you stole Fizzy Lifting Drinks! And to make matters worse... [opens the half door, sees Tom, Jerry and Tuffy] Willy Wonka: You allowed a cat into my factory! A cat, and his two filthy mice friends! Now, the entire factory will have to be sterilized! So, you get NOTHING! You lose! Good day, sir! [returns to his work] Grandpa Joe: You're a cheat! How can you build a little boy's hopes and then... disappoint him like this? Willy Wonka: [to Joe, angry] I said GOOD DAY! [returns to his work]"

"Willy Wonka: So, Charlie? How do you like my factory? Charlie Bucket: Mr. Wonka, it's the most wonderful place in the whole wide world. Willy Wonka: I'm very happy to hear you say that. Because, I'm giving to you. [Charlie gasps] Grandpa Joe: You're giving the factory to Charlie? Willy Wonka: Absolutely. You can move in immediately. You and your entire family, you can bring them all. Even Tom and Jerry. [Tom and Jerry flips and high fives] Charlie Bucket: Wow! I still can't believe this is happening. Willy Wonka: You know what happens to the boy, who suddenly got everything he ever wanted. Charlie Bucket: What? Willy Wonka: He lived happily ever after. [Charlie laughs and gives Wonka a hug]"
