The writer and lead actor Johan Matton lived in Thailand for 9 months 2008.
Most flashbacks were filmed in New York more than a year before the Thailand scenes.
The reason why the character Joanna cries in the subway is never explained. The writer did provide a back story for the character including this event. However, the actress Linnea Larsdotter choose to disregard the given reason for a circumstance that triggered her more.
The actors lived together, sharing rooms with their Co-actors during the entire production. Johan Matton and Linnea Larsdotter stayed away from each other and shared rooms with their other scene partner throughout the duration of filming.
The actress Linnea Larsdotter flew to Thailand for her screen test. The director Bank Tangjaitrong filmed her for 5 days, acting in versions of scenes from the script, before he choose to cast her as Joanna 1 month later. The recordings was later edited into a visual teaser for the film.
"Joanna: Ask me and I'll stay."
