TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

When he first read the screenplay, Jude Law had to admit that he really didn't like his character.

Rory is talking to Arthur in Arthur's office. The view through the window shows St Paul's Cathedral in London seen from the east. In the 1980s, when the film is set, the only building which afforded this view was the National Westminster (Nat West) Tower - now called Tower 42 - which, at the time was London's tallest building and a prestigious business address. This location is confirmed when there is a glimpse, also from Arthur's office, of the building's distinct facade, and again when Rory walks past the Royal Exchange and the camera tilts up to focus on the building.

While he has produced some projects afterward and directed some television episodes, this will be Sean Durkin's first directorial effort in film since Martha Marcy May Marlene.

Premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival.

Carrie Coon's husband is playwright and actor Tracy Letts. He was very impressed with Sean Durkin's film which many have compared to a really good play.

Popular Dialogues

"Taxi Driver: You a good dad? Rory O'Hara: Yeah, I'm the best. I keep a roof over their head, I give them the best of everything. and I've never laid a hand in them, never would. Taxi Driver: That's the bare minimum mate. Don't pat yourself on the back for that."

"Allison O'Hara: You can blame shit on me Sam, but you're the one who's going to have to live with your choices. Sam O'Hara: I don't have to make choices, mom. I'll just find a man to make my choices for me."
