Sean Tiedeman, the director of The King of Arcades, records novelty songs under the alias Irish Elvis. His song, 80s Arcade, has aired on several syndicated radio shows including Dr. Demento and became the #3 most requested new song of 2005 on Captain Wayne's Mad Music Hour.
The King of Arcades was one of the featured titles on the initial launch of GOG.com's DRM-free movie platform.
The final film varies greatly from the originally intended cut. Several clips were removed as a result of Knucklez having a falling out with a business partner and most clips of his family were removed after his wife filed for divorce and refused to allow them in the film. This time was filled with other B-Roll shot during the making of it, and the ending was changed totally. The original ending saw Knuckelz in Walter Day's jersey, proclaiming himself to be the "New Walter Day"
The King of Arcades is co-produced by Adam F. Goldberg, creator of The Goldbergs TV series on ABC.
A new punk rock version of Buckner & Garcia's top-ten hit Pac-Man Fever appears in the film. The song was re-recorded by Knuckle Sandwich in collaboration with Jerry Buckner of Buckner & Garcia and features vocals by Danny Jones, best known for singing the theme song to Disney's Wreck-It Ralph (2012).
