TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The entire film was shot in twelve days on a budget of about $80,000.

British-born Jack Turner not only assumes an American accent in his portrayal of Myles, but also applies a distinctly Californian regionalism. This is especially impressive given that the film was shot in only twelve days and the company was shooting ten pages of dialogue per day.

The film premiered at the Brattle Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on April 4, 2014, as part of the Boston LGBT Film Festival.

In JC Calciano's novelization of the screenplay, he reveals several significant plot elements that are not covered in the film, including the origins of Brody's resistance to commitment. Myles and Brody initially met in their college years, thrown together as friends when they found their respective boyfriends were having an affair. Burned by the experience, Brody swore off dating from that point on. In addition, the iconic photograph of Myles and Brody, captured the day they met, is revealed to have been taken by Myles' boyfriend at the time, after introducing him to Brody, who was the boyfriend's best friend.

Jack Turner's band, Cablecar, wrote and perform two songs in the film, "Believer" and "Tonight," one of which underscores the lap dance Brody gives Myles in his cop uniform.

Popular Dialogues
