TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Originally titled "Urban Commando", and intended for Danny DeVito as Charlie Wilcox and Arnold Schwarzenegger as Shep Ramsey. When these two opted to make Twins (1988), the script was bought by New Line Cinema as the follow-up to their highly successful Hulk Hogan film, No Holds Barred (1989).

Special effects technician Michael Colvin was accidentally killed on the stage of the second unit visual effects shoot when he fell through a trap door while testing it.

The P.K.E. meter prop from Ghostbusters (1984) was re-used in this film as a homing device.

Gun props from Masters of the Universe (1987) were re-used for this film.

Mark William "The Undertaker" Calaway accepted a role in this movie at the suggestion of Vince McMahon. The Undertaker had not debuted in the WWF during the time of the making of this movie, but Vince had high hopes for him. Vince planned to do with Hogan and Undertaker what he did for Hogan and Zeus by bringing into the WWF the villian of the film No Holds Barred (1989), which starred Hogan. However, that angle didn't do well, as Tommy "Tiny" Lister, Jr. (Zeus) was trained to become a wrestler after No Holds Barred (1989), and the angle quickly died away. Vince hoped that if this movie was a hit, then hopefully The Undertaker would become known well enough to attract audiences who wanted to see Hogan take on another movie villain, only this time the villian was a wrestler able to put on decent matches with Hogan. No mention of this movie was mentioned after The Undertaker debuted just before the film was released to theatres.

Popular Dialogues

"Charlie Wilcox: I was FROZEN today!"

"Deak: Do you have any idea what we are gonna do to you, if we find one itty, bitty scratch on 'em? Shep Ramsey: Let me guess. You're gonna pound my face. Break every bone in my body. Then you're gonna drag me across a gravel road and feed my remains to a warthog. Is that about right? Deak: What are you nuts? This is the '90s. We're gonna sue you."
