Keb' Mo' is an award-winning blues artist and played his own music in the movie.
This movie clearly takes place in 2017 - twelve years after Katrina in 2005. But the movie also takes place about a week or two after the previous movie (which aired Sept. 2016, but seemed to take place in Feb/Mar 2016), as the deceased passport employee's potato hasn't yet sprouted (and that takes about 1-2 weeks). That creates an inconsistent internal timeline for the movies.
Keb' Mo' who plays Gabe sings his song "Tell Everybody I Know" in the next movie Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Home Again (2017) during the opening credits.
"Shane: So, what do we do now? Oliver: I am going to make you the perfect kumbacha Shane: Kombucha Oliver: smoothie, and you are going to read me all of your letters. Shane: That could take all night. Oliver: Good."
"Shane: I'll be back. Oliver: Of course. Shane: I, I really enjoyed our walk. Oliver: So did I. Shane: Promise me that you'll find Gabe. Tell him not to be too hard on himself. He didn't have to say it. She knew that he loved her. She knew. Oliver: I will tell him."
