When the psychic opens the mystic book, one of the pages has symbols such as an ankh, a fox, a cat, several planets, the initials "BK" and the initials "MSJ". Each of these are references to former KISS members, in order it references Vinnie Vincent, Eric Carr, Peter Criss, Ace Frehley, Bruce Kulick and Mark St. John.
When KISS powers up into their "superhero" persona, each band member glows a different color. These colors correspond to the background colors on the cover of each member's 1978 solo album: The Starchild/Paul Stanley: Purple. The Demon/Gene Simmons: Red.The Catman (formerly Peter Criss, now Eric Singer): Green. The Spaceman (formerly Ace Frehley, now Tommy Thayer): Blue.
The Kiss World amusement park shown in the movie was based on a real concept. In his book "Kiss and Sell: The Making of a Supergroup", C.K. Lendt, who was one of KISS' financial managers, said that during the planning and rehearsal stages of the tour to support the group's latest album "Dynasty". Gene Simmons came up with the idea of a portable amusement park, the kind of setup that is put up in shopping mall parking lots, livestock show and rodeos, and carnivals, with all of the rides, games, concessions, and attractions all themed to the four members of Kiss. The park, named Kiss World, would travel with the band and be erected at the arenas where the band would be performing. Lendt looked into the concept and then told the band that such an undertaking would cause them financial trouble. The Kiss World idea was quickly dropped. According to Lendt, the idea didn't last more that two weeks.
When the members of KISS do their outfit change at the beginning of the movie, they pay tribute to the different sailor scouts from Sailor Moon (1995).
KISS tour manager Doc McGhee voices Chip McGhoo, based in name and likeness on himself.
"Fred Jones: [after watching Daphne passionately kiss the Starchild] You know, you could've cut it off a little earlier, it was kind of gross. I mean, I was right there, I was there! Daphne Blake: [mesmerized] Oh I'm sorry, did you say something, "Frank"? [giggles then kisses him]"
