IMDbOdd Thomas is a supernatural mystery thriller film that revolves around Odd Thomas, a young man with paranormal abilities who uses his gift to help solve crimes in his small desert town. When a mysterious stranger arrives in town accompanied by a horde of otherworldly creatures, Odd sets out to uncover the truth about the stranger's intentions and prevent a catastrophic event from occurring. Furthermore, the movie has been adapted from the novel of the same name by Dean Koontz, and the director seems to have done decent justice to the plot. That's because the movie has mixed reviews with criticism around the lack of originality and the odd pacing of the storyline, while it is appreciated for its performances and cinematography. All in all, Odd Thomas is still a solid entry in the supernatural thriller genre, and is worth a watch for fans of the book or even supernatural films.

As Odd leaves the hospital, one of the signs that is being held up says: "In Odd We Trust", which is a graphic novel in the series
Another scene that was deleted involved Odd and Stormy's matching birth marks, an important reference from the book.
Filming was stopped for several weeks due to financial problems.
Scenes that included Odd and Stormy's origins were deleted from the film. One including young Stormy and her stepfather and another including young Odd and his mother. Odd's mother put a gun to his head and is later taken away while cutting paper roses. DJ Shamus and most of Ozzy's scenes were also deleted from the film.
Several notable characters from the novel were deleted from the film: Terri Stambaugh, owner of the Grille Odd works at, motherly figure, and a walking encyclopedia of Elvis knowledge; DJ Shamus, blind radio host (a sign can be seen advertising his radio station when Stormy and Odd first walk into Green Moon Bowling Alley); and the ghost of Elvis. Little Ozzie also had an important role in the novel, as he was the one who convinced Odd to write his story, but is only in one scene of the film.
"Odd Thomas: Fate is not a straight road. There are many forks in it. You have the free will to choose which one you take, but sometimes it will bend around and bring you straight back to that same stubborn fate."
"[last lines] Odd Thomas: That will be a long wait, but I am a patient man, and I have much to do."
