IMDbThe Ford Mustang that Laurel drives is a 68, not a 65, like discussed in the movie.
As not everyone watching this movie will know, Danny's father is played by former professional football quarterback Joe Theismann. Joe played in two Superbowls and won one. He also was an all-star in the CFL and College champion at Notre Dame his senior year. As his career was ended by a freak, but shocking injury on Monday Night Football, he would be the perfect person to relate to the male-lead's issues and 'act' as his Father.
John Reardon stars as a football player in this film. In reality, while a student at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada, Reardon was an all-star Atlantic University Football Conference (AUFC) wide receiver.
The football footage is from a Brigham Young-Wyoming college game.
The song sung in the background of one of the scenes between the two leading roles, "Weapons", was written and sung in the movie by Emily Kinney, the female lead in this movie, "Love On The Sidelines".
