On the day of her marriage Hema Malini refused to shoot for Kranti. Hema shot for Razia Sultan in the morning and then sent the message to Manoj Kumar's unit that she was ill and did not want to shoot. The real reason Hema did this was because she was required to wear a white saree for a scene. The saree represented her being a widow. She did not want to do that scene on her wedding day . When Manoj Kumar later found out the real reason for her not reporting to the sets , he had a good laugh and call to wish Dharmendra on his wedding .
Parveen Babi fainted on the sets of Kranti due to her strict diet regime. She was on keto diet as she wanted to get a heavily toned body with no extra weight for the song "Maara Thumka."
Manoj kumar has went on to say that his matinee idol is Dilip Kumar and his all time career high was to direct him in the movie
Manoj Kumar said as he always took Mukesh as plaback singer of his films, in Kranti, he took his son Nitin Mukesh as Mukesh was no more
Prakash Mehra was ready to start his film Zameen with boxing legend Mohammed Ali and Amitabh Bachchan. But he got the scare of his life when he saw the climax of Kranti. All the scenes planned for Zameen were present in Kranti. This was due to writer Harbance Kumar stating he was inspired by the TV serial ROOTS. Salim Javed had also seen ROOTS and lifted several ideas from there and put them in Kranti. This ups3t Prakash Mehra because now he would have to rewrite major portion of his film.
