Similar to Dev's most recent film, Tonic, Kishmish is a straightforward, enjoyable movie. The movie is pretty enjoyable to watch, despite seeming like a mixed-fruit cake with elements of the 2004 Hum Tum movie starring Rani Mukherjee and Saif Ali Khan and the Hollywood classic Parent Trap. And one of the main factors in that is Kharaj Mukherjee, who portrays Tintin's father, Goblu, a loud-mouthed Kalighat inhabitant who adores his strict Pubali (Anjana) of Bhawanipore ancestry. His comedic timing and demeanour are always flawless. Even the presenting technique, which mostly consists of flashbacks to various eras and makes extensive use of animation in the manner of Hum Tum, is rather energising. Dev and Rukmini put up excellent performances, despite the fact that they appear a little older than the roles they portray. Even Anjana seems a little young to be Tintin's mother, who his new classmates initially think is a lecturer. June, Anjana, and Kamaleshwar all do their roles admirably. Nice surprises are the extremely brief cameos by Paran Bandopadhyay, Rituparna Sengupta, Ankush, Jisshu U Sengupta, and Srabanti Chatterjee. As Grandma 'Buri' Tintin, Lily Chakraborty is charming. After all the tension of recent years, watching Kishmish is a pleasant, enjoyable experience for viewers of all ages. Even though it has a duration of approximately 2.5 hours, the story makes up for it.
