IMDbSome of the cast never left the set once the shoot began, opting to sleep there in order to maintain their connection to the reality of the story.
The movie was shot in an old industrial complex to help reduce the already low budget.
Not released theatrically in its native Australia.
Infini was designed to be visually reminiscent of the 1979-1982 era of genre cinema which included The Thing, Apocalypse Now, Wrath of Khan, Empire Strikes Back, Alien and The Shining but the filmmakers wanted it to have a jarring narrative that had no traditional form or standard three act structure. Shane Abbess is quoted as saying the movie was 'a deranged love letter of sorts.'
Daniel Macpherson, Luke Ford and Dwaine Stevenson were in constant conflict during the shoot, often creating hostilities on and off the set but this was only to help the journey of their characters.
"Harris Menzies: Daddy loves you all the way to the Milky way. The long way, not the short way."
"Whit Carmichael: I know you're listening. You could have chosen any part of any one of us. But you chose the worst parts of human behavior to use as your voice. You chose hatred. You chose violence. You chose conflict. You had an inability to see the bigger picture. You had a down-right fucking refusal to see beyond the present. You couldn't get past your own selfish, ignorant need to dominate. If you had of had time to grow, time to evolve, things could have been different... if we could have worked together."
