TRIVIA

Trivia

The home video flashback footage was done with the children holding cameras and filming themselves.

Dominic Bogart was selected by the writer/director because he knew him as a strong character actor and had seen him on stage in a Chicago production of "Jersey Boys."

The financial returns made from this film was used to make Short Term 12 (2013), which in return was based on a short film made by Destin Daniel Cretton in 2008. Cretton later cast Dominic Bogart and Short Term 12's lead actor Brie Larson in The Glass Castle (2017).

Destin Daniel Cretton's feature-length directorial debut.
