When the government explored forming an Majelis Ulama Indonesia in 1975, deliberation participants elected him by acclamation as chairman.

Hamka & Siti Raham Vol.2 along with Buya Hamka Vol.3 will skip release in Israel, UAE and Bahrain due to Israeli-Palestinan conflict.
