TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The establishing shots for the aircraft appear to be of an Lockheed 1011 TriStar, which has a 2-5-2, 2-4-2, or 3-4-3 seating configuration; unlike the 3-3 seating configuration depicted in the film. It is significantly wider than the aircraft depicted in the film.

The aircraft depicted is a 727, not an L-1011

An aircraft does not carry a pry bar: in fact, tools of any kind are prohibited

The aircraft in the film is a Hawker-Siddeley Trident, identified by the engines on the tail, which has not flown in passenger service outside China since 1985. Common misconception is that it is a Lockheed L1011, which is another trijet but has two RB211 engines under the wings. The aircraft shown on the DVD cover does not match the aircraft in the film - that is a Boeing 737.

The plane is a Boeing 727 - not a Lockheed L-1011. The 727's are narrow-bodied planes with 3 engines mounted at the rear of the plane and 3-3 seating in coach like the plane in the movie. The L-1011's are wide-bodied with 1 engine mounted at the tail and one on each wing and are considerably longer than the 727's.
