TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The movie's story is at least somewhat inspired by the suicide of Megan Meier, a teenager living in Missouri who committed suicide after a mother, Lori Drew, her daughter, and their then-employee Ashley Grills pretended to be a teenage boy named Josh Evans and bullied her online after pretending to be her friend.

An image from a trailer for the film that had an Internet commenter saying "ur a liar lindsay" became an Internet meme among sites like 4chan, YouChew, and Tumblr.

Originally was to air on Disney Channel.

Based on the presentation by the history teacher, Taylor's birthday is April 23rd.

In the movie the social media platform that the student use is called Cliquesters. This is parallel to Facebook but both are mentioned in the film. Facebook still exists in the universe of the film.

Popular Dialogues

"Taylor Hillridge: [attempting suicide by pill overdose] I can't get the cap off!"

"Taylor Hillridge: I'm the real Taylor Hillridge. And I don't know why everybody hates me so much. But maybe I do. Because now I hate me too. And right now, I really don't see the reason for trying, or for talking, or for breathing. I'm just done. So that's it, I guess. Bye."
