Producer Ken Aguado is credited with starting the ball rolling when he presented the film's script to Erik LaSalle to direct. LaSalle loved the script so much, he offered Aguado a partnership in Humble Journey Film, his partnership with DJ Caruso.
Ty Adams is in every scene of this film. Some scenes in it start out focusing on other characters, but end up focusing on him.
Jeremy Leven wrote the screenplay for this film. It is loosely based on his second novel Satan: His Psychotherapy and Cure by the Unfortunate Dr. Kassler, J.S.P.S. (1982). Besides featuring the devil and a shrink, the only real similarities between the two are the names; i.e., the names of the characters are the same, but they play completely different parts.
Yellow is the color of hope, according to the director's commentary on the film. Whenever you see Brianna and Veda in it, they are either bathed in or are wearing yellow.
Eriq LaSalle and Michael Beach previously co-starred together on the TV series ER.
"Man: I want a soul. Ty Adams: A soul? Man: I like yours. Your passion, your devotion, your self-righteousness and God complex, it turns me on like you wouldn't believe."
"Ty Adams: Do you believe in the devil? Nurse Danza: Of course I do, I work for him. Ty Adams: All right, well, if you could ask the devil one question, what would it be? Nurse Danza: It would be, why do the doctors around here insist on driving me crazier than the patients do? Ty Adams: Never mind. Nurse Danza: Okay. Ty Adams: Sorry. Nurse Danza: Fine. I'd ask him why he spends all his time punishing sinners that he's supposed to adore to make a point to a God that he's supposed to despise."
