TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

This is the first original film to be released by Amazon Studios.

This is Dave Chappelle's first role in a movie since Undercover Brother (2002).

Pronounced "shy-RACK", the title is a portmanteau of "Iraq" and "Chicago", used by South Side Chicago residents to refer to the area comparing it to a war zone, due to its high crime rates. Chicago's then-Mayor Rahm Emanuel didn't like the title, and asked Spike Lee to change it, thinking it would hurt the city's image.

This is an updated take on the classic Greek play Lysistrata by Aristophanes.

The first film Angela Bassett and Spike Lee have worked on together since Malcolm X (1992).

Popular Dialogues

"Father Mike Corridan: Yellow police tape, teddy bears, t-shirts, balloons - these are the national memorials of our neighborhoods. And it doesn't look good."

"Irene: Be a good man."
