STORY AND REVIEWS

Story
A documentary film that describes the controversial tennis star Boris Becker's life, giving readers unparalleled access to the last three years of his life before his arrest in the UK in April 2022.
Boom! Boom! The World Vs. Boris Becker Review

Boom! Boom! The World vs. Boris Becker tells an engrossing, frequently moving story that closely tracks the life of its subject. The Apple Tv “series event”, which was directed by Oscar-winner Alex Gibney, is actually two full-length films containing fresh interviews with Becker and tennis legends John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg as well as career highlights and archival video clips. People who aren't tennis enthusiasts or who don't have a keen interest in the sport may find the movie to be at times, inaccessible, and any potential viewers may be put off by the docuseries' length. Although the setting is rather limited, the stories are compelling and the access is unmatched. First part centers on Becker's career and the second on his financial downfall. The infamous tennis star was charged with hiding assets and his chaotic life has provided enough content that is fascinating and the audience gets it all through Gibney.
