Eric Kripke, who wrote the screenplay for this film, would go on to reference the film in Supernatural: Hollywood Babylon (2007).

Lucy Lawless, who was the star of Xena: Warrior Princess (1995), is in this film, while her Xena costar, Renée O'Connor, was in Boogeyman 2 (2007). Charles Mesure, who plays Lawless' husband, was an occasional costar of Xena. The producers of Xena, Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi, are the producers of the Boogeyman films.
