Product is Ok, but if you face any problem in TV, you wont get any assistance from LG Service Centre as happened with me. On facing a technical problem, I registered a complaint (Complaint No. RNA140820044425) on LG Service Centre. After 5 days of registering my complain a technician visited to my home. He told me that a part of it needs to be repaired for which I confirmed him to do so. Since then I have tried more than hundred times (in last 15 days) to contact that technician/local customer care but neither that technician nor local LG customer care (Bharuch Branch, Gujarat) is picking my phone. I have made more than 10 calls to LG Customer care and they just assure me that you will receive a call from us within 24 hours, but till date I have not received any call. So now I am planning to purchase another TV, but obviously not LG.
We actually had a 21" Thomson CRT TV from last 16yrs, which was working well though. However had to change to an LED TV. (Smart & 3D dint seem a real need for me)nWith this, I was looking for an LED TV, Full HD b/w 39" - 42" in about 35k - 45k range. I had planned to buy Philips 39" TV for size v/s cost benefit, but it went out of stock on Flipkart.nIt was then I looked at LG 42" LB5510 & LB5610 ... I decided on LB5510; as LB5610 was not available on Flipkart in Bangalore.n> It has the same IPS panel seen across all LG TV's which I hear is best/decent enough.n> Awesome viewing experience of full HD LED with 720p & 1080p content.. (Unlike other LED TV's watching 480p contents from non-HD TV channels is not so impressive)n> The TV speakers seemed good to me. I have read about several audio issues in LED TV's, don't know if people are comparing to Bose :-) .... But in this TV the audio was good even with just 15% volume up.n> It has Audio Out with Headphone jack ... I could plug my 2.1 creative speakers to this ... Decent sound for watching movies.n> The USB input could directly read my 1 TB HDD.... This was awesome for me :-)n> There are two HDMI ports... Sufficient for now.n> The menu & settings functions in remote are quite simple to use; helpful for my parents to handle.nnComing to price:nI had checked the same TV in stores... The price on Flipkart was 7k less.nIn addition I got 4k less on exchange of my old CRT TV.nnGood to go for this, if you are not looking for 3D or Smart TV... However a Smart TV can be made out of this with a Android box for 4k.
